Welcome back to the High School Corner!

The best moments in Montessori learning come when the stars align just right in a way that allows us to apply the knowledge we have acquired in class to the present moment. Over the course of the past school year, we have delved into the stories, events, and ideals that make up the origin points of America as a nation. In Humanities, we have traced the history of the North American continent from the first indigenous settlers to the outbreak of the Revolutionary War. In Literature Seminar, we have read and discussed Common Sense by Thomas Paine, a piece of literature that proved key in stoking the flames of revolution in the American colonies. And finally, in Current Events, we have connected our origins to the present day stories and struggles of America. All of these threads came together as we watched history unfold before our eyes today watching the 59th presidential inauguration as a class. The importance of this ceremony was amplified by all the previous knowledge we have of American history.
