Hi Everyone!

We are so excited to welcome you back to another year of the High School Corner. The high school community started our year off with a bang! Last Thursday, we began the first day of our retreat by visiting the Houston Museum of Natural Science. We saw the Pompeii Exhibit and the Hall of Gems and Minerals because of their connections to classes we will be studying this year, such as world history and chemistry. In the afternoon, we visited the Rothko Chapel to view the art and reflect on the start of the school year. We had a brief lesson about how different parts of the brain influence our personality types, and then finished the day off with liquid nitrogen ice cream from Creamistry. 

On Friday we spent the morning volunteering at the Houston Food Bank. Together with the other volunteers present, we sorted over 6,000 lbs. of donated food! When our shift finished, we quickly made our way over to the Escape Game Houston, where we completed the Gold Rush escape room with 14:20 minutes to spare! 

We had a fantastic time together, and we are so excited to begin classes this week. Check out photos of the retreat!
