Sam McGlone

Sam was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He is a third-generation graduate of Kansas State University, earning bachelor’s degree with honors in Architecture in 2010. After college he lived and worked in Seattle and San Antonio before moving to Houston with his wife in 2013. He has worked as an architect in Houston for several award-winning design firms and currently works as a Project Architect for Gensler. Much of his work has been focused on housing for marginalized communities, but he has worked on everything from small hair salons to multi-acre mixed use developments. A member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), he has volunteered often with AIA Houston and previously chaired the Christopher Kelly Leadership Development Program. He is an avid soccer player, enjoys watching Saturday morning cartoons with his daughter, and regular family trips to Big Bend. Sam also has a soft spot for old land rovers, particularly those that need a lot of work.
