Biography

Joy Jones is a Cajun from Louisiana but has lived in Texas for the last 23 years. She received her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University, focused on English, Psychology, Sociology, and Kinesiology. She then moved to Burton, Texas, to work at Camp For All. During her first summer at CFA, she realized that she loved teaching. She then earned her Master's in Education, moved to Houston, and spent the next 18 years teaching adolescents. Her passion for project- and inquiry-based learning has flourished over the years, and she has come to recognize its power to engage and empower students, encouraging them to explore their curiosities and apply their knowledge in real-world contexts. She received her AMI Montessori 12-18 Orientation training in 2023.
