from December 1st through December 8th the high school Community travel to New York City as a part of our study of world history founded in 1624 by the Dutch Amsterdam only as originally inhabited by the Monopoly people the city grew quickly and by the early 1800s New York City with the largest city in the United States it became an essential Port major hub for immigration in Global Financial centres which game play significant importance across the world in the present-day New York City continues to remain an essential symbol of American culture and International New York City was the center of American immigration during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries visit Ellis Island the place with 12 million immigrants passed through between 1892 and 1954 in order to enter the US on the way to Ellis Island we saw the Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island and you can get the same feeling of freeing astonish immigrants would feel when arriving in the United States what was it in the Ellis Island Museum we saw all the procedures the immigrants would have to go through and I had an overwhelming filled with with how much they had to go through right before arriving we also visited the 10 or we learn about the lies of the rogosheske he's a Lithuanian immigrant family that settled on the tennis tournament on Orchard Street I lived during the time of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire when people like the rubbish Estes and it's the United States they brought more than just their suitcases they were other cultures as well New York City is famous for its ethnic enclaves including Chinatown Little Italy Koreatown Little India and many more is neighborhoods are vibrant and colorful and when you walk you almost feel like you've been transported to a different country so I got the delicious pasta we ate in Little Italy incredible display the culture aren't the only thing that gives New York City its international field United Nation the organization located to maintaining International Peace and security is headquartered in New York City just a 20 minute walk from Time Square as you walk past the flags of each UN member country waving in front of the building it's hard not to feel a sense of awe and fascination of the international commitment to Unity and peace but they represent another part of New York City that contribute to Global importance as its Financial District we spent a morning touring Wall Street where we the New York Stock Exchange the Federal Reserve Bank The Fearless girl statue promoting female empowerment and a charging bull statue was supposed to be brings good luck prosperity and a good Financial day I can't forget we also saw the place where Alexander and Eliza after visiting st. Paul's we took a tour of the 911 Memorial Museum he spent a few hours over afternoon viewing the beautiful yet still ring exhibition as well as a collection of recovered pieces for 9/11 attacks during this visit we were told the story of 9/11 in pieces of art images personal stories and video clips of the attacks we also visited the Museum of Modern Art in the metropolitan Museum of Art featured artists like Jackson Pollock and Mark rothko we're both abstract expressionist we had learned about in our classmates research right before the trip and we love seeing these unexpected creative even minimalistic pieces the men have more of a worldwide collection of art featuring different styles and eras we reviewed Egyptian and Greek Arts artifacts from Neolithic culture that we had learned about in a Humanities class walkthrough photography music fashion exhibit and so much more we enjoyed visiting important religious buildings like the Elgin Museum of historic Jewish synagogue in St Patrick's Cathedral we learned about the stunning buildings around our research on religion and immigration in New York and after seeing their history and culture in person we could definitely see why these buildings are so important to the communities that were built around one of our class favorites from our trip was the Wheatsville Heritage Center which is dedicated to preserving a free black community called weeksville established before the Civil War we were also fascinated by our tour of Plymouth Church an important abolitionist Center and under Robert stop we were able to climb down into the area beneath the church where runaway slaves were temporarily sheltered and we were also able to sit in the same to you that Abraham Lincoln sat in the church visiting historical sites our schedule is packed with a bear events at Prospect Park in which we ice skate together as a community some people feel more than others brother had an interesting experience trying to find a Rockefeller Christmas tree yes we founded one of the highlights of our trip was when we went to Broadway in which To Kill a Mockingbird based on the novel with red in the AC which is very exciting as Airbnb we took two meals for each other and spend quality time at the dinner table together and we can't forget her coffee run we had a fantastic time in New York City and we learned more than we ever could have imagined we hope you enjoyed watching our gloves
