Jessica holds a B.A. in Politics with a certificate in Latin American Studies from Princeton University. While applying to law school, Jessica had an opportunity to teach ESL and Bilingual Pre-K in HISD. After a few tears and much levity, Jessica was hooked on teaching. She earned her M.Ed.: Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Early Childhood Education, and she taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, and first grade for ten years at Mark Twain Elementary and St. John’s School. She received her literacy specialist training at Neuhaus Education Center.
Jessica deeply appreciates the Montessori approach for its initial roots in Dr. Montessori’s scientific observation of the whole child as well as its current research-based standing as an exceptional educational approach.
Jessica attended St. Catherine’s for Primary and has many fond memories of her guides and the peaceful enviroment. She and her husband, Bobby, are parents to three current St. Catherine’s students, one each in Primary, Lower El, and Upper El. She enjoys sailing, kayaking, cooking, and reading.
