Biography

Sarah received a bachelor’s degree in English from Georgetown University, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Georgetown awarded her a scholarship for two years of graduate study at Oxford University in England, where she received a master’s degree in 20th century British literature. Following a stint doing business writing for Ernst and Young, she taught literacy classes and discovered a love for working with children. Having attended a Montessori school in Cleveland, OH for Primary-8th grade, she knew that Montessori was the only kind of teaching she would like to pursue. Sarah received her AMI diploma in Elementary education from the AMI training center in Bergamo, Italy. She taught for three years and then took time at home to spend with her three children, Julia, Caroline, and Andrew. Caroline and Andrew are current St. Catherine’s students, and Julia graduated in 2022.

After being a parent at St. Catherine’s for several years she joined the staff as the library manager, which was a perfect combination of her Montessori and literature backgrounds. Sarah was very excited to transition to the role of director of college counseling for the St. Catherine’s High School. As a student, she wished she could have attended a Montessori high school and is thrilled that the dream of a high school at St. Catherine’s has come to fruition. In her spare time, Sarah loves to read and to travel with her husband, Christopher, and their children.
