Elizabeth Villalobos grew up in Mexico and was raised in a bilingual home. She completed her AMI 0-3 certification at the Montessori Institute of North Texas in Dallas, Texas in 2017 and holds a bachelor's degree in interior design from Universidad de Monterrey.
Her Montessori journey began as an infant, when she attended a Montessori school until she was 6 years old.
Elizabeth started her teaching career in 2012 working with the younger children at a kindergarten in Austin, Texas. She quickly knew guiding children was her calling. Elizabeth made her way back to Mexico in 2013 and led a primary classroom at a traditional school. While working there, she realized that her heart was pulling her back to her Montessori roots and she decided to pursue AMI training.
Elizabeth worked as a guide for a Montessori school in Mexico for three years before moving to Houston with her husband to work as an assistant, and later a guide, at a local AMI Montessori school for two years. She joined St. Catherine’s in 2022.
Her favorite Maria Montessori quote is, “Children are the future of humanity.”
