What is the AC Market?

The AC Market is a part of a larger student-led program called AC Market Enterprises which is a direct output and extension of the Adolescent Community curriculum. In the Adolescent Community, students learn real life applications of economics, chemistry, horticulture, animal husbandry, marketing, creative expression, and more through AC Market Enterprises.

The work is divided into teams that each have a student manager who has interviewed for the position. The teams are: Bee, Soap, Garden, Literary Arts Magazine, Chicken, Market, and Musical.

The student manager and their team of fellow students are responsible for various aspects of each occupation from taking care of the health and well being of the chickens and bees, to maintaining the market's online presence and delivering products every Friday. AC Students make handmade soap, harvest honey from the AC Hives, collect eggs from the SCM chickens, grow fruits and vegetables from the AC Gardens at Japhet and SCM all to sell in the student-operated AC Enterprises.  Students make baked goods, create craft projects and write, illustrate and publish the Literary Arts Magazine. They also  produce bi-annually the musical - creating the sets and lighting design, selling tickets and concessions, learning dance routines and songs.

All monies earned through the sale of these products are reinvested into the AC Enterprises for supplies and materials to enhance their studies.
