Lindsay earned a B.A. in English from Texas Christian University and an M.L.A. with an emphasis in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of St. Thomas. Prior to working at SCM, she taught English I, Pre-AP English I, and AP English IV in Fort Bend ISD as well as English 101 and 102 as an adjunct professor at Houston Community College. She also taught AVID, a national program that assists at-risk high school students with organizational and note taking skills, effective study habits, and the college admissions process.
Lindsay’s passion for Montessori began before the birth of her two sons, but it has only rooted deeper, seeing her sons, both of whom attend SCM, blossom with freedom within limits, prepared environments, and careful attention to and observation of the whole human: mind, body, and soul.
As a teacher of writing and literature, she feels her role is not only to assist her students in finding their voices but to create an environment where they feel heard.
In her free time, Lindsay writes poetry and attends poetry workshops, practices distance swimming and yoga, plays outdoors and moseys around the zoo with her family, and folds the never-ending-mountain of laundry.
