Placement Policy
Children are placed according to the needs of individual classrooms, keeping the communities within those classrooms at the forefront of placement decisions. We strive to maintain classrooms that are balanced in age and gender, as this allows the children within the classroom the optimal environment for academic and social growth.
Criteria for placement are based on classroom availability, as well as the child’s age and readiness for the program. Priority is given to siblings of current families, followed by children with previous Montessori experience.
Waiting Pool: If at the end of the admission process, a space is not available for a qualified candidate, your child will be placed in our waiting pool. Families will be notified if their child has been placed in the waiting pool, and will be contacted by phone or email if a space becomes available.
St. Catherine’s Montessori continually strives to provide classrooms within an overall community that reflects diversity and balance of socioeconomic level, race, culture, age, and gender.
We welcome applications from all interested families.
