Placement Policy
Children are placed according to the needs of individual classrooms, keeping the communities within those classrooms at the forefront of placement decisions. We strive to maintain classrooms that are balanced in age and gender, as this allows the children within the classroom the optimal environment for academic and social growth.
Criteria for placement are based on classroom availability, as well as the child’s age and readiness for the program. Priority is given to siblings of current families, followed by children with previous Montessori experience.
Waiting Pool: If at the end of the admission process a spot is not available, your child will be placed in our waiting pool. If a spot for your child becomes available, you will be notified by phone or email.
St. Catherine’s Montessori continually strives to provide classrooms within an overall community that reflects diversity and balance of socioeconomic level, race, culture, age, and gender.
We welcome applications from all interested families.
