Jose Tovar
Jose Tovar, M.D (retired) received his MD Surgeon degree in 1957 from the National University of Columbia, South America. In 1959 he received his pediatrician specialty and in 1961 his anesthesiologist specialty. From 1967-1971 he served as an anesthesiologist specialist for University of Texas @ Houston and at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was also an instructor of anesthesiology at the above places. From 1983-2001 he was the chief anesthesiologist at Parkway Hospital and from 2002-2009 he was the assistant administrator at the Washington Avenue Diagnostic Center.
Dr. Tovar and his wife Dora have 5 grandchildren that are attending or have attended St. Catherine’s Montessori. In his spare time he enjoys reading, opera and ballet, horses, sports and especially soccer.
