Sr. Edna Ann Hebert, O.P.
Sr. Edna Ann founded St. Catherine’s in 1996 and currently is the Director of the Reading Center. She has a BA in Language Arts/English from Sacred Heart College, a Masters in Theology from Oblate College in San Antonio and her AMI certification from Washington, D.C.
St. Edna Ann taught for 10 years in a traditional elementary school. She was a Head Start Director as well as beginning the Montessori program at St. Mary’s School in Port Arthur. Sr. Edna Ann also re-opened St. Mary’s Montessori School in Houston. She was a primary teacher at St. Catherine’s for 40 years. She has also conducted Language Arts Workshops for 20 years.
In her spare time Sr. Edna Ann enjoys spending time with her two sisters, camping, reading mystery novels, traveling in a camper and playing cards with friends.
Her comments about Montessori: “It’s the real thing. Montessori speaks to the heart of the child.”
