Carrie Toffoletto
Carrie received her Bachelor of Business Administration and Management from Texas A & M University and her Masters of Arts in Teaching from Rice University. She has a Texas State Teaching Certificate in Social Studies and English for grades 6-12.
Carrie taught at Westbury High School where she was named to the Coalition of Essential School National Faculty. She also taught at the Rice School. She has been teaching at St. Catherine’s since 2001. Carrie’s educational interests are integrated curriculum and learning differences, including ADD and Dyslexia. She has attended the week long Montessori Adolescent Colloquium, many workshops and conferences offered by NAMTA and intense training on multisensory approaches to teaching basic language skills.
In her spare time Carrie enjoys scrap booking, cooking with her family and exploring the world with her two children.
Her comments on Montessori - “When I taught in HISD, I was a faculty member of the Coalition of Essential Schools where teachers were working to integrate the curriculum, follow the needs of individuals, develop community and help young adults learn to function effectively in the adult world. When I discovered Montessori, I realized that what the Coalition is doing is reinventing Montessori.”
