Carla Deavers
Carla has her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from LSU School of Nursing in New Orleans. She also has her lactation consultant training from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C..
Carla was a pediatric nurse for 9 years and was an assistant teacher in the Upper Elementary for 5 ½ years. She and her husband Mike have five children, two of whom have graduated from St. Catherine's. The other three children are in our Adolescent Community, Upper Elementary and the Toddler Community. In her spare time she enjoys swimming, beach activities and reading.
When asked about Montessori Carla says - " I love that the children learn right where they are - they can be independent, they can concentrate on areas they need more help in and they can accelerate in their strong areas. I think Montessori meets the needs of most children, better than traditional schools."
