Anita Cooper
Anita received her Montessori Primary Credentials in 1981 and her Professional Administrator Credentials in 1997. Anita returns to St. Catherine’s after many years of teaching Montessori! She was with St. Catherine’s (then called Dominican Montessori) from 1979 until 1981. Over the course of her career, Anita has taught at First Steps Montessori, The Montessori Children’s Cottage, The Montessori School of Houston, The Montessori Child Development Center and St. Stephen’s Montessori School.
Anita is married and the mother of five – one daughter and four sons. In her spare time she enjoys yoga, teaching Sunday school, reading and sudoku.
When asked what she likes about Montessori, Anita replies: “Montessori prepares a child for life by giving him a firm foundation for learning, teaching him respect for others and his environment and how to make good decisions.”
