Biography

Kelley studied environmental science and sustainability in New Zealand as an undergraduate and is currently a Texas Master Naturalist involved with many local farms, gardens, and land institutes. She moved with her family to Houston from New York City where she worked as a professional photographer.

Kelley has been a part of the SCM community for five years as a parent and garden volunteer where she has helped with pollinator gardens and worked to get a seed grant from the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. She has been involved with Montessori education for over a decade. One of her favorite quotes by Maria Montessori is, "The greatest gifts we can give our children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of freedom."

In her spare time, she enjoys learning about the native plants of Texas, hiking, and, naturally, gardening.
