Hiring and Accreditation Goals

The philosophy and curriculum of St. Catherine's Montessori School is firmly rooted in the Montessori Method as established by Dr. Maria Montessori. It is the goal of St. Catherine's Montessori School to be recognized by the Association Montessori International ("A.M.I."). To this end, the administration endeavors, whenever possible, to hire faculty trained by A.M.I. Any teachers without A.M.I. training that are hired by St. Catherine's Montessori School will be expected to begin A.M.I. training, within three years of hiring. Currently over one-third (36%) of our teaching staff holds an A.M.I. diploma. St. Catherine's Montessori School is accredited by the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department, and is thus recognized as an accredited private school by the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission and the Texas Education Agency. It is an ongoing goal of St. Catherine's Montessori School to maintain such accreditation.
