About the Capital Campaign

PAST - Nearly 40 years ago the founders of St. Catherine's Montessori began their work in a one-room preschool in the original St. Agnes Academy auditorium. The year was 1966. The school served 45 children ages three to six. The dream was simple – to establish a true Montessori environment where classrooms would be child-focused, where children regardless of race, religion, or economic background could meet their highest potential.

PRESENT - The dream of St. Catherine's Montessori has become a reality. St. Catherine's is the only Catholic Montessori school in Houston that serves preschool through ninth grade students. Its vibrant community represents more than eleven countries and six religious denominations. Tuition is kept low to ensure socio-economic diversity. Children receive an education that is academically on par with Houston’s most elite private schools.

FUTURE - In 2002 a Capital Campaign was officially launched to maintain the mission of St. Catherine's Montessori and to provide its students with a larger facility and campus. Since that time great strides have been made to reach the campaign’s overall fundraising goal of $6.9 million. Through the generous support of our families and friends, and those within Houston’s philanthropic community, construction will soon begin on the state-of-art facility that will be St. Catherine's new home.

Right now the Capital Campaign continues as we reach ever closer to our fundraising goal. It is at this time that the support of our community is especially critical.
